Meet Our Team

Dr. Tim German has been practicing veterinary medicine for the last 14 years in Calgary. Following his graduation from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, he moved out to Calgary and started working in larger emergency and referral practices in town. As a firm believer in patient-centered veterinary medicine, he found that these larger centres had trouble maintaining patient focus, and he started delving into primary care practice as a relief veterinarian. While the relationships developed with patients and clients was hugely rewarding for him, he found it difficult to provide the standard of care he was used to with the “9-5” schedule of a primary care practice, and hence, Paramount 24 Hour Animal Hospital was born! Dr. German connected with like-minded, skilled veterinarians he encountered throughout his career, and they developed a practice that kept patient care as a primary consideration through open communication and a dedication to high medical standards and ethical practices, while simultaneously improving patient access to care. Dr. German has extensive surgical and dental training, a keen interest in internal medicine and emergency/critical care, and has worked at practices, large and small, all over North America. He is on the board of the Calgary Academy of Veterinary Medicine, which is a volunteer organization that provides Continuing Education to the veterinarians of southern Alberta. He has also recently been appointed as a Clinical Instructor through the University of Calgary, College of Veterinary Medicine. He is excited to meet you and your pets, whether in for a light-hearted visit or a more serious emergency, and will strive to get your pet back to a healthy state of being!
