Meet Our Team

Heather was born in Malaysia and raised in multiple countries going where her father’s career took them. At 12 years of age, Heather’s family moved back to Canada and Heather has called Calgary home since then.  Heather obtained her Bachelor of Science in Zoology with Distinction from the University of Calgary in 2007, following her undergrad Heather was proud to be a part of the inaugural graduating class of the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with distinction in 2012. Heather has worked various positions (reception, vet assistant) at a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in Calgary since she was 17 while in undergrad and vet school, returning to that practice as a new graduate and continued to practice there until July 2021.   Dr. MacQuarrie is excited for a new chapter in her career as she takes on a new adventure with Paramount 24 hr Animal Hospital.  Since graduation, Dr. MacQuarrie has developed areas of interest in ultrasonography and internal medicine.
